Baby Edward's Chicago Baby Showers

Ed, Edward & I feel so blessed and thankful! We were showered with love and were so happy to be surrounded by our family and friends. THANK YOU to everyone for such a wonderful, special baby shower weekend! I've been meaning to post this for over a week now, where does the time go!? Today I'm 32 weeks along and Baby Edward has the hiccups this very moment! He is most active very late at night, which the Dr. said means he will be active very late at night when he is born. So it seems that we have a night owl on our hands (sigh). We have been busy getting things organized and ready for EJ's arrival. Ed has already put together the high chair (which we won't need for almost a year) and he installed the car seat this past weekend! He is SO ready to meet his son, he says that I'm keeping all to myself and that it is selfish of me :) HA! We did a one-day baby class this past Sunday from 8a-3pm. I was VERY grumpy by the end and needed a nap! I didn't really feel like I learned that much, the only thing I really was surprised by was that you should NOT ever use baby powder! Who knew!? Other than that, we are getting half of our basement finished, they started yesterday and are down there now banging away! It will be a great play space for Edward and his buddies. They say they will be done before June 22nd, I wonder if Baby Edward will be done before then? I guess only time will tell!

Let's hear it for the boys!!

These are two of my good friends (Rebecca & Amy) who are also having boys all within a month and a half of each other! I'm so happy that Edward is going to have best playmates to grow up with in STL! I feel like everyone I know is having a baby and it's pretty fantastic! I found out this month that my Big Sister Jilly Bean is having a baby girl (Bayla Marie!). I just can't wait to be a Mom in June & an Aunt in August, how cool is that!? I'm also about to be an Auntie to my dear friend Angie's baby ?, due in September! Ed's best friend Steve-o is going to be a Dad in September too...the announcements seem to roll in daily! Any of you preggers? This is such a neat time in our lives and I can't wait to see all these kiddies grow up!

I'm 30 weeks along! I just hope Edward stays in there baking until he is golden brown, perfectly healthy and ready to come out! I can not wait to see what he looks like: Chubby, more than likely. Large head and the need for baby neck brace to support large head, very possible. Curls, I sure hope so. Brains, certainly. Sense of humor, he's already hilarious.

So much to look forward to...10 weeks and counting!

He's really in there!

Ed wanted to title this blog: "The fog is getting thicker and Edward is getting larger!" But I told him that no one would understand what that reference is from...if you do understand, please let me know, I'll be impressed. So Friday we had a bit of a scare, everything is FINE, thank God. But we had to have another ultrasound and we got a great picture of baby E! It's just his head/face and you can see his left hand. I think he looks adorable, smart, witty, and overall perfect! :) I am 26 weeks today, less than 100 days to go! He is moving around like crazy and Ed loves to keep his hand on my belly and oooo and aaaa everytime he shuffles around in there. I love that when Ed comes home from work I get a hug, kiss and a "Hello Mama!" and then baby Edward gets a hug, kiss and an even bigger "Hello, it's your Daddy!" Melts my heart. I have to say that I am LOVING being pregnant (I would love it more if I could have wine, caffeine & sushi) but it's really amazing and I just feel so important carry around this little LIFE that is my son...wow.

"Learn to Love Ironing"

There are two chores that I absolutely can not stand doing: ironing & emptying the dish washer. I'm not sure why this is, but I can't bring myself to to them. Since becoming pregnant and feeling the need to nest and be productive at all times, I've started keeping a very extensive "to-do" list. For some reason if something is on my list, even if it's a chore I can not stand to do, I find complete satisfaction in doing it and crossing it off, ahhhh what a feeling! So today I thought I would put this to a true test and I put "Learn to Love Ironing" on my list. I glanced at my list all day long and there it was just staring at me waiting to be crossed off. So, alas, I went down into the basement, turned on the iron (which took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to do and yes it was a simple as plugging it in) and started to iron. I ironed the new baby bathroom shower curtain, it is too cute for words and I ironed the adorable woodland creature window valance for the nursery. It felt AMAZING, I was so very proud of myself! I marched right back upstairs picked up my pen and crossed that sucker off, but before I did I made one quick little change..."Learn to Love Ironing, Once."

Papaya & Milkshakes

Every week I find out what size Baby Edward is compared to a fruit or veggie. This week he is a papaya! I learned that Baby's little face is fully formed...minus the baby fat, of course. His next task at hand is to sprout two teeny-tiny nipples! How strange is that!? I just can't believe that he started out as a little poppy seed and now is GROWING NIPPLES, sheesh. Last night he was really fired up and I felt the strongest double punch yet. I think he was upset that Ed polished off the rest of my milkshake or maybe that was me that was upset? :) Speaking of milkshakes, we just finished painting our downstairs bathroom and it's now a chocolate milkshake color. My cravings for chocolate milkshakes have carried over into my decorating taste...I'm just glad I haven't been craving canned Lima Beans or some other terribly colored food.

My Bump, My Bump, My Bump!

My lovely baby bump! It finally popped out! I've been waiting and waiting for it show up and now I don't know what to do with the thing! I'm very nervous that my belly button will pop out, not something I'm interested in having happen. Having this belly bump really makes this all feel real, along with the fact that Baby E has begun to dance around in there, which is an amazingly weird, wonderful feeling! I say dancing because I've been doing Zumba and there is no doubt that he is doing the salsa or cha cha! He'll probably come out with a pair of maracas that he built while killing time in there, because if he's anything like his Daddy, he has to be keeping busy at all times!

We are so excited for June 22ndish to come and to meet our little Edward! There is no doubt he is going to be spoiled rotten and loved to pieces! I sure hope he has a head of curls!
